What is Sugar Rush?

Sugar Rush is a video slot from Pragmatic Play, announced on 30 June 2022. Its play area is a 7×7 grid, so 49 positions resolve at the start of a spin. Instead of traditional fixed paylines, the game uses clusters: five or more matching symbols must connect horizontally or vertically. The public product page describes clusters of 5–15+ symbols and gummy bears and jellybeans among the candy-themed icons.

When a cluster wins, its symbols disappear and replacements tumble into the empty positions. New symbols enter from above, and the grid checks for another cluster. A spin can therefore include multiple winning tumbles before the sequence stops. These cascades are still part of the same paid spin; they are not separate bets. The feature gives each spin a clear sequence to follow, but it does not guarantee a second win after the first cluster.

The special feature is the multiplier spot. A winning symbol can leave a marked position behind. If a later winning symbol lands on the same cell during that spin, the spot gains a multiplier. Pragmatic Play says the value starts at 2× and doubles on repeated hits up to 128×. The spot is attached to a grid location, not permanently to a particular candy icon.

How to read one spin

First, the player selects a stake and starts a spin. The grid resolves into symbols. Any group of at least five connected matching symbols can qualify under the paytable. The game pays the cluster and removes its symbols. Remaining symbols fall into the gaps, and new ones refill the grid. If another cluster forms, the tumble continues. The sequence ends when no more winning groups appear.

In the base game, marked spots can grow during that cascade, but they clear when the tumble sequence ends. During free spins, the positions and their multipliers remain for the whole feature round. That persistence allows later free spins to use earlier marked cells. It does not force symbols to land there, and it does not make a winning cluster due.

The distinction matters because a board can show large multiplier values that do not participate in a win. Only a qualifying combination that uses marked cells can be affected, and the active rules explain how those values apply. The multiplier spot ceiling is not the same as the game’s total maximum payout.

Original Sugar Rush or a sequel?

This site focuses on the original game. Sugar Rush 1000, Sugar Rush Xmas and Sugar Rush Super Scatter are separate Pragmatic Play titles. They share candy artwork or parts of the cluster-and-tumble format, but their published mechanics and maximum-win claims differ. In particular, Sugar Rush 1000 advertises spots up to 1,024× and potential wins up to 25,000×; those numbers do not describe the original’s 128× spot limit.

Super Scatter is another distinct title with its own Super Scatter feature. The provider’s page describes potential wins up to 50,000× when a specified feature condition is met. Do not transfer that number to the original. Check the full name and provider inside the game’s information screen before using a guide or paytable.

What a review can and cannot establish

Provider pages can establish the publicly described mechanics and release history. A live game’s Help panel can show the rules and values for that instance. A regulator register can identify a listed operator and category. These are different records. The provider page does not prove which game configuration a Ghana operator uses, and the register does not confirm a live Sugar Rush listing.

Scatter award table

Pragmatic Play’s public Sugar Rush page lists the number of free spins awarded for scatter counts from three through seven. The larger scatter counts grant a larger initial feature award. The table tells you what happens after the trigger; it does not tell you how likely the trigger is on a future spin.

Persistent spots in the bonus

The free-spins feature carries marked positions and their multiplier values through the whole feature round. A later free spin can land a cluster on an earlier marked cell and use its value. A new winning symbol at that position can also grow the spot according to the rules. This is the game’s distinctive round-to-round progression, but it still depends on the actual symbols that land.

A bonus can end with a modest result or no meaningful return. Free spins are not cash in themselves, and an award of 30 spins is not a guarantee of profit. Check the live Help panel for retrigger rules, feature caps and any special settlement conditions. Different versions may use different settings or documentation.

Feature buys and the cost of instant access

Pragmatic Play’s June 2022 launch announcement described an instant free-spins purchase at 100× the bet for the original game. An operator may disable the option or apply different market rules, so check the actual game before relying on that price. If enabled at 100×, a GH₵1 bet would make the feature purchase GH₵100; a GH₵2 bet would make it GH₵200.

The purchase changes how a player enters the feature; it does not guarantee that the feature repays its price. Read the applicable RTP and max-win lines, plus any operator bonus terms. Do not buy a feature to recover a previous loss. If the cost is beyond an affordable entertainment limit, skip it.

Demo mode for learning, not forecasting

A demo can help locate the paytable, see a tumble and understand how positions remain during free spins.
