The mark is attached to a grid location
When a winning symbol disappears, the game can leave a wrapper or mark on that cell. The symbol itself is gone, but the location remains important. If a later winning symbol lands in the same cell, the multiplier feature can add value to that spot. This lets one cell accumulate a multiplier as successive tumbles reuse it. The mechanic depends on later winning symbols landing in the marked position; a mark alone does not pay.
The official product page describes the original game’s multiplier spots as starting at 2× and doubling when another winning symbol hits a previously marked position, up to 128×. Read “up to” as a maximum for an individual spot under the published feature, not as a common result or a guaranteed reward. The exact cash value still depends on the winning cluster and active paytable.
Base game: accumulation within a spin
During ordinary spins, marked cells and multipliers exist through the current tumble sequence. A second or later winning symbol landing at a spot can increase the position value. Once no further tumble win forms, the base-spin sequence ends and the markers clear. They do not remain from one ordinary paid spin to the next in the original game.
A cluster may occupy several marked cells, and the game rules explain how multiplier values associated with one winning combination are applied. The values are not a multiplier on the entire balance or every win in the round. The player cannot place a mark manually or choose which symbol arrives at an old position.
Free spins: positions persist across the feature
The multiplier spots become persistent during free spins. When a bonus spin ends, marked locations and their values remain in place for subsequent free spins within the same feature. A later spin can land a winning symbol at one of these positions, add to its multiplier and apply it to a qualifying combination. The accumulated layout is cleared once the feature round completes.
This rule makes free spins structurally different from the base game: each spin can contribute to a shared board of multiplier locations. But persistence should not be mistaken for a win. The next spin may not form any cluster, and a high multiplier can remain inactive if no winning symbols connect to it. How to interpret multiple spots in a cluster
A winning cluster can cross more than one marked location. The pay result then depends on the game’s combination rules for those spots. Public game-rule copies describe multipliers being added together where multiple multiplier values take part in one combination; because rules may be versioned, check the exact panel rather than assuming an operator uses an identical document.
Do not multiply together every value visible on the board. Only locations that participate in a qualifying win matter, and a maximum value displayed on a cell is not a maximum payout for the spin. A separate maximum-win cap can constrain the total prize. The 128× spot limit, base-cluster prize limit and total game payout limit answer different questions.
Example without a forecast
Consider a hypothetical cell that is marked after an initial win. If another winning symbol later lands there during the same tumble chain, the spot can gain a multiplier according to the rules. If a further winning symbol hits the same location, it may increase again. The illustration explains the progression logic; it does not assign odds to the sequence or suggest that a player can time a spin to reach a particular value.
If a result screen shows a spot value, compare it with the accepted round history and the payout details. Check the exact stake and paytable. Do not treat a game screenshot as proof of the next outcome or use a visually large multiplier to justify an unaffordable bet.
Spot multipliers versus Sugar Rush 1000
Sugar Rush 1000 is a separate product that expands the multiplier-spot ceiling to 1,024×, according to Pragmatic Play’s release announcement. That value should not be applied to the original game. The original’s public product page states up to 128× at an individual spot. Sugar Rush Super Scatter is another distinct release with additional features and different limits.
The edition name matters when comparing a provider page, casino listing or game rules PDF. Verify title, provider and version before quoting multiplier figures. A familiar grid or candy symbol set does not establish that the active game is the original Sugar Rush.
